Embrace is an intimate and personalized yoga loft. We ask that you please be mindful when coming up the stairs.

Embrace Your Flow, Be mindful of Others

If you are late or need to leave early move quietly, and be mindful of those around you. Enter the loft quietly and prepared for practice. Take a few centering breathes then slowly join the class. This is your time, so know you are always welcome. Things happen, but consistently arriving late for class shows a lack of respect for the community, yourself and your practice. Plus it never feels good to rush into class where you are working to cultivate balance and peace. (We recommend that you arrive ten minutes before your scheduled class).

Come clean!! “Purity of body is essential to well being” (BKS Iyengar). We all love to smile sweet, but please refrain from using perfume.

If you can, try to practice on an empty stomach. However, if you need to eat, grab something really light.

Savasana (lovely resting pose) is the yummy time of the practice, so give yourself space to completely drop in. If you hear a few noises, let go and embrace your time to relax.  If you have to leave early, give yourself time a mini savasana.

What should I bring?

If you have a yoga mat, please bring it. Also, bring a towel if you sweat.  If you don’t have a yoga mat, no problem. We have rental mats available for $1.  You can also rent a towel for $1.

I’m not flexible, what do I do?

Don’t stress, this is a lifetime practice, flexibility of the body and mind will come in time. Be patient with yourself.

What do I wear?

Comfortable clothing that you can move in with ease.

Is this a workout?

Our classes offer dynamic movement incorporating sun salutations, creative asana (posture) sequencing, and mindful attention to alignment that works with your body. This practice will warm the body and full the soul. You will build heat naturally through an awareness of the breath and body.

Should I drink water?

Try to hydrate your body prior to class, but if you need to drink water during class, limit the level.
